Job Summary:

The Telecom Designer will be a part of our national IES Design Branch. The Telecom Designer will be highly skilled in the design of low voltage telecommunications infrastructure systems. The Telecom Designer's role is to provide consulting and design services to our clients for technology enhanced spaces. The position will require that the designer actively participate in the design process for several projects at the same time while ensuring efficiency, accuracy and top-quality work is being delivered to our clients.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Contribute as a key member of the project design team, bringing a significant level of expertise in telecommunications systems and related design elements, with a forward-thinking perspective Take responsibility for leading projects, executing design work, and delegating production tasks. Able to perform complete technology systems design according to code. Meet with clients, typically architects and end users, to assess system needs, owner standards, and project requirements. Maintain good client relations. Engage in design meetings with our clients to determine project goals and requirements Work collaboratively with the CAD/BIM Staff to develop high-quality telecommunications infrastructure construction drawings, details, and systems drawings Review submittals of shop drawings, coordinating with architects, contractors, engineers, and other consultants The Designer will provide complete project design, space layouts, selection of applicable materials. The Designer will attend in person or virtually all required design meetings with end users or contractors. The Designer will review drawings, RFPs and other design work products for quality assurance to support IES and the client's design standards. The Designer will be able to develop and graphically layout a construction schedule with the end user and IES operational team input. The Designer will act as liaison between and meet with sales, project management and operations when project is turned over for installation. The Designer will follow Company guidelines on preferred selection of vendors and products. The Designer will work with vendors to obtain best solution, most competitive price and proper lead-time on materials. The Designer will ensure that all design work meets the customer and Company quality and safety level. The Designer will attend training and review sessions on technical requirements per the Company's training guidelines. The Designer will handle other responsibilities as assigned.

Must be self-motivated, positive in approach, professional and lead others to create, develop and implement project process improvement(s). Must promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners. Must have proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s). Must have proven high skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting and quality requirements. Must be able to travel within the United States as needed. Must be able to learn Company and customer project management systems. Must be able to manage multiple projects/estimates and present a high level of organization. Regular attendance is mandatory. Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements: Must have at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency; Bachelor's Degree preferred. RCDD, or other low voltage design credential strongly preferred. Low Voltage design industry experience required. Must be able to manage multiple scopes Must have experience in customer interface, such as liaison between the customer and the Company. Must have a minimum of five (5) years of low-voltage Design experience. Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in low voltage contracting or a related technical or construction field. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and MS Project). Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit strongly preferred. Must meet Company minimum driving standards. Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously. Must have proven ability to design, and develop a written and graphic representation of the company's proposed solutions utilizing the software resources provided by the Company. Career Path: Design Lead, Design Project Manager and Design Branch Manager Min USD $125,000.00/Yr. Max USD $150,000.00/Yr.

Minimum of one (1) year of experience in customer interface, such as liaison between the customer and the company. RCDD preferred, but not required. Structured Cabling industry experience preferred but not required. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project). Must meet company minimum driving standards. Must have the proven ability to design, engineer, estimate and develop a written and graphic representation of the company's proposed solutions utilizing the software resources provided by the company. Must possess proven problem solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s).
