The Michigan Medicine Palliative Care Service is a recognized leader for patients living with advanced illness. Clinical social work plays a vital role on the adult palliative consult service to provide specialized psychosocial support to patients and families, to facilitate communication, promote care planning, and expedite transitional care, to assure the appropriate level of care. This position will have the opportunity to support inpatient teams and outpatient clinics as part of a highly skilled and supportive Adult Palliative Care Social Work team. This position is a great opportunity to work with medically and psychosocially complex patients who are often approaching the end of life and their families within a complex care environment.

Work Schedule
This is a 40 hour/week position. The typical schedule will be Monday through Friday but does include some weekend days on a rotational basis with start and end times 8:00-4:30 or 8:30-5:00.

Underfill Statement
This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate. Advancement through the career ladder at the Expert or Clinical Scholar Level is required for placement in the MSW Senior Classification.

Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.
