Financial Aid Compliance & Quality Assurance Coordinator
Preferred Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in federal student aid programs, and/or compliance, audit, and training.
Executes compliance and quality assurance of internal protocols. Evaluates and makes recommendations for protocols based on collected data to ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Serves as liaison for audit and review committees. Facilitates service orientation and training for quality assurance matters.
- Responsible for the oversight, and review of financial aid internal reports. Assist with financial aid account reconciliation.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of Title IV and state laws and regulations.
- Proactively identifies and analyzes potential risks and exposures, providing clear guidance and hands-on assistance as needed to align processes and operations with compliance requirements.
- Perform random quality assurance audits on financial aid accounts such as Federal Funding, Scholarships, Endowments, and Federal Work study.
- With guidance from leadership, design and deliver a robust training program across all Financial Aid service areas, for both new and existing staff. Create and present training on relevant topics.
- Participate in federal and state on-site audit visits and assist with any corrective actions. Assist in the coordination of information gathering for internal financial aid audits.
- Research, develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures, ensuring they are effective in achieving compliance and meeting the needs of leadership and operational teams.
Most work is sedentary, completed within an office setting. Some counseling/presenting is performed at other campuses and off-campus sites. Employee must be able to move about the campus to meetings and travel to locations outside of the University of Pittsburgh.
