Position Summary
Perform a variety of duties to provide clean, healthful and safe facilities and working environment for staff, students and visitors. This is a full time, benefitted, second shift (2pm-10pm) position, Tuesday through Saturday.
Minimum Starting Salary: $19.25/hour
Major Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Maintain a clean, healthful and safe environment by sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing floors, surfaces and walls, removing trash and recyclables, cleaning windows inside and assigned areas on a daily basis or as needed, taking great care to avoid damage to artwork
- Clean, sanitize and restock restrooms.
- Maintain lighting of public and non-public areas of Institute. Change light bulbs and tubes. Use ladders and manual lift as necessary.
- Assist setting up and breakdown of rooms for meetings and special events. Move furniture as needed. Carry out work orders for various tasks and building projects as assigned.
- Maintain all cleaning equipment. Empty dust bags and change filters.
- Perform carpet and floor maintenance. Strip and wax wood floors, vacuum, shampoo, remove spots from carpeting.
- Stage scaffolding using electric lift.
- Assist grounds with shoveling when required.
- Answer visitor questions as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education, Training, and Skills
- Ability to read, write, add, subtract, follow instructions, and read instruments and similar devices.
- Must posses a valid driver’s license.
Work Experience
- Minimum of 3 months relevant experience preferred.

- Work Environment: Work will be performed in an office environment, museum spaces, mechanical spaces, and outdoors. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate but can be high. Weather outdoors can be inclement.
