Position Summary
Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Studies at LC, the Assistant Dean for the BS in Global Business works in collaboration with the Rose Hill-based class deans, personal and professional development staff, and colleagues throughout the business school and University to ensure the academic success of all students pursuing the BS in Global Business degree at Lincoln Center.
The Assistant Dean works with students individually on registration, curricular requirements, and academic progress and leads large-group advising sessions on topics that contribute to student development.
Essential Functions
- Advises all Lincoln Center students of all class years on issues relating to registration, liberal arts, and business core requirements, possible future academic paths, international opportunities to enhance their program of study, curricular internship requirements, and other issues.
- Works with every student to ensure that degree requirements are being met.
- Develops and leads workshops for students on topics of personal and academic development.
- Collaborates with faculty to ensure the mission and objectives of the school are achieved.
- Develops and maintains a strong working knowledge of the undergraduate curriculum, especially the four concentrations that are unique to the Lincoln Center program.
- Works with the Associate Dean for Global Initiatives and Partnerships and his or her staff to identify new ways to enhance the global character of the Lincoln Center program and the student experience.
- Collaborates with business school and university staff to organize and deliver academic orientation for the Lincoln Center campus.
- Organizes events to improve student engagement, retention, and generates innovative ideas for ways to involve undergraduates in the larger context of business school life at Lincoln Center.

Management Responsibilities
Guides work of other employees who perform essentially the same work and/or student workers. Organizes, sets priorities, schedules and reviews work, but is generally not responsible for final decisions in hiring, performance management or compensation.
Additional Functions
- Monitors academic progress, and implements probation, suspension, and/or termination decisions.
- Works with Enrollment Services to survey each incoming freshman class.
- Addresses academic and behavioral issues.
- Maintains records of individual student meetings and curriculum progress.
- Assists in admissions, orientation, graduation, and other college-related events.
- Serves as a member of one or more cross-functional teams that bring together staff from admissions, academic advising, personal and professional development, and alumni relations.
- Interacts with university departments including, but not limited to, Registration, Career Services, and Student Services.
Required Qualifications: Education and Experience
- Master’s degree
- Minimum of 6 years of advising or progressive experience in a business industry.

- Demonstrated ability to advise and teach in an AACSB-accredited business school.
- Commitment to student development and meeting the higher education needs of students.
- Proven ability to identify and resolve complex problems using analytical and creative thinking.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Exhibits a high level of emotional intelligence.
- Skilled at fostering collaboration to achieve ongoing progress.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and conflict management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work well independently and in team settings.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Drive.
- Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to the goals of Jesuit Education.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD or EdD.
- Higher Education Experience.
Minimum Starting Salary: $85,000
Maximum Starting Salary: $104,000
Note: Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
