DESCRIPTION

Involves the design and delivery of clinician (primarily nursing), professional/leadership development programs, policies, activities, assessment tools, and systems. Promotes excellence in patient care, through skill acquisition in evidence based nursing practice and clinical inquiry. Collaborates with nursing leadership to tailor programs and resources based on needs assessments.

Meets the diverse requirements of the nursing units, patient populations, regulatory and accreditation and strategic goals of the organization/health system. Applies skills and experience as a seasoned nurse educator to ensure optimal clinician knowledge and skills through education and training in either general or specialized nursing education and/or training. Serves as a preceptor for entry or intermediate Clinical Nurse Educators. Leads implementation of new programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN).

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the state of California.

  • Current ART certification, or BLS and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six (6) months of hire date.

  • PALS certification.

  • A minimum of three (3+) or more years of relevant nursing experience in the Emergency Room.

  • Demonstrated hospital management skills, with progressive expertise in patient care services.

  • Knowledge to manage disaster incidents, sentinel events and ability to problem solve with critical thinking skills, thorough knowledge of delivering clinical nursing education and training material for orientation and skills/competency learning and leadership development.

  • Strong skills in written and verbal communications. Ability to collaborate productively in a team environment with all levels of internal and external personnel and to convey complex clinical information in a clear, concise manner.

  • Thorough knowledge of a broad spectrum of professional nursing practices and issues.

  • Thorough knowledge of methodology for conducting evidence-based research, data collection, analysis, and reporting.

  • Proven critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage multiple levels of information and responsibilities, and to quickly assess moderately-complex problems to develop potential solutions

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide education, training, and resources, and to develop positive working relationships with nursing staff and leadership.

  • Detail oriented, with proven organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage time, prioritize tasks, and see projects through to completion on deadline.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • A Master's Degree in Nursing or relevant area.
  • CEN certification.
  • Previous work experience as an Educator in the ED.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $128,800 - $252,200 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $61.69 - $120.79

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
