DESCRIPTION

The Diet Techs (DTR) will manage the tracking, preparation, and distribution of human milk and modular formulas. Participates in department's special projects and performance improvement activities, particularly those related to the NICU formula/breastmilk operation. Precepts dietetic interns/students. Attends inservices and meetings to keep abreast of operational needs and new processes.

The DTR will actively assesses, evaluates, and maintains professional development and competency related to assigned units. Techs serve a high-risk population and must have pronounced attention to detail in formula prep and sanitation of all equipment. Works closely with other techs to share information and duties based on operational needs to accomplish daily goals. The DTR is also an active participant in the nutritional care of adult patients. The DTR works closely with the Dietitian in screening, educating, and carrying out nutritional interventions, documenting all encounters in the electronic medical record.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • One (1) year of previous directly related nutritional experience preferably in ahospital, nursing care facility, or other comparable healthcare environment.
  • Requires proficiency in basic math skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Must have superior customer service and critical thinking skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Registered Dietetic Technician (DTR) by the Commission on Dietetics (CDR) Certification.
  • Experience with NICU population.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Must be open to working with adult clinical nutrition in nutrition interventions, education and investigations.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $58,464 - $72,642 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $28.00 - $34.79

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
