About the Role:
Collaborate with research and preclinical to ensure phase-appropriate and species-specific formulations are developed and compounded in support of preclinical studies. Assist in characterizing the developability of new therapeutic modalities (small molecules and biologics). Execute various studies to support product advancement from early discovery through clinical phase. Maintain laboratory equipment and perform calibrations/verifications as needed._
Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):Evaluate physiochemical properties of new development compounds (across small molecule and biologic modalities) to identify developable candidates
Develop and characterize formulations for use in non-clinical studies
Measure biopharmaceutical properties, pkA and logP, of materials via UV/Metric and pH/Metric titration techniques
Execute thermodynamic and kinetic solubility studies to aid in method development processes
Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment, and facilitate service with
technicians as needed
Collaborate and communicate with other groups in-house to ensure conclusions from data
generated are applied correctly and used widely and effectively
Assemble and maintain documentation of data to allow efficient retrieval of results
Performs other duties as assigned
BS/BA degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field and some experience in a chemistry, analytical, or characterization laboratory setting required; Experience with characterization equipment such as PXRD, DSC, TGA, and SEM a plus OR
MS/MA degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field preferred and some lab or industry experience preferred
Some knowledge of a cGMP-regulated environment, including familiarity of relevant US/EU regulatory and quality requirements, standards, and practices
Familiarity with biotech/pharma manufacturing operations, product and process development, finance, and supply chain operations
Possess familiarity of physical & analytical techniques as they pertain to biopharmaceutical properties
Ability to learn quickly and think independently
Familiarity with the development and execution of chemical and instrumental methods (e.g. HPLC, solubility analysis, DLS, viscometer, osmometer, DSC, TGA, PXRD, particle-size analysis, GVS, PLM, T3, and SEM) of analyses for development compounds, raw materials, intermediates, drug products, and packaging materials
Able to execute experiments efficiently and suggest small process improvements
Able to recognize patterns or inconsistencies in data results
Able to deduce meaningful results while conducting routine analyses or troubleshoot minor issues. Good knowledge of one scientific discipline
Developing knowledge of scientific principles, methods and techniques
Good knowledge and some experience working with discipline specific laboratory equipment/tools
Ability to work as part of a team
Good computer skills
Developing communications, problem-solving, analytical thinking, planning and organization skills
Detail oriented
Understands importance of meeting deadlines

The hourly rate we reasonably expect to pay is $33.98-$48.01. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 15% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
