Position Summary
Located 45 minutes from the Nation’s Capital, nestled in a history-rich community of southern Maryland, The College of Southern Maryland (CSM) is a two-time Aspen Award-winning institution (top 15% of Community Colleges) with academic programs in over 100 disciplines. This is an applicant pool for adjunct instructors for Personal Enrichment - Adult and Senior Programs.
CSM is actively accepting applications for adjunct positions at all campus locations.
The college also has a significant need for passionate adjunct faculty excited to contribute to our Early College program. Students taking Early College classes are dually enrolled in their local high school while also completing courses at CSM towards a certificate or degree. Early College faculty teach face-to-face classes between the hours of 8:15 am and 2:00 pm, two to four days a week.The College of Southern Maryland is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Want to teach the subject you love to students who are eager to learn? CSM is looking for instructors to develop and teach courses for our Personal Enrichment Program at all 3 campus locations. These courses are continuing education (lifelong learning) and subject areas include, but are not limited to the following:
- Animal Interests
- Arts and Crafts (All mediums)
- Beauty
- Computers
- Cooking
- Dance
- Certified Fitness Instructors
- English as a Second Language
- History and Current Events
- Home and Garden
- Languages
- Music
- Natural Health and Healing
- Personal Finance
- Photography
- Recreational Activities
- Retirement Strategies
- Writing
Paid instructor salaries begin at $25.00 per hour. The hourly rate is contingent on the complexity of the course being offered.Minimum Education and Training
- At least an Associates degree or subject matter expertise with teaching experience.
- Experience working with seniors and/or adult population.
- Strong interpersonal skills and some curriculum development experience.
