East Arkansas Community College is seeking a faculty member to teach coursework within the discipline of the Child Care program and working as a Student Support Specialist in the Student Welcome Center This position is on a 10 ½ month schedule.

 

Typical Functions:

Provide instruction for the discipline-specific coursework included in the Child Care program. The Childcare program prepares students with the skills necessary to care for children from birth to school age in under two years. The program is designed to provide students with the background and practical skills to succeed in a competitive field.

This is a split report position, also working with Student Services and co-reporting to the Vice President for Student Services. These responsibilities involve working closely with the Offices of Financial Aid and Admissions, the Bookstore, and any other department that serves students in the Welcome Center. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects. The employee must occasionally walk, reach with hands and arms, and kneel or crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. The employee will be required to work in a high traffic area, with frequent public contact. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee must be willing to work in an office that utilizes overhead LED lighting.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Current licensed Child Care provider (or willing to obtain within one-year, Associate Degree in Child Care preferred. 3-10 years’ experience within the Child Care Field.
