Ellis County Coordinator of TRIO SSS and Bulldog Life Services
Job Description
This is a grant funded position and continuation is dependent upon availability of funds.
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Ellis County Coordinator of TRIO SSS and Bulldog Life Services will be responsible for coordinating support services for TRIO SSS and the Bulldog Life departments at he Ellis County locations. Reporting to the Executive Director of Bulldog Life and TRIO SSS, collaborates with the Bulldog Life and TRIO SSS staff to provide a full array of supportive services to TRIO SSS participants and all students on both Ellis County locations.
- Serve as the TRIO SSS Ellis County locations liaison.
- Oversight of the Testing Services department at both Ellis County locations.
- Oversight of Navarro College and TRIO SSS Tutoring Services at both Ellis County locations.
- Collaborate with the TRIO SSS Parttime Content Creator and other TRIO SSS team members to create a social media presence utilizing YouTube (for online workshops), Instagram, and new platforms.
- Monitor student academic progress (including collaboration with faculty) and provide interventions within program guidelines.
- Collaborate with other TRIO SSS staff members to provide extensive supportive services to TRIO students at both Ellis County locations.
- Collaborate with relevant departments at the Ellis County locations to provide quality customer care for TRIO SSS program participants and all Navarro College students.
- Develop Academic Success Plans with TRIO SSS students on Academic Probation or Suspension.
- Supervise Work Study/Parttime staff assigned to Bulldog Life and TRIO SSS at the Ellis County locations.
- Assist TRIO SSS students with completing the FAFSA, Loan Counseling, and the Financial Aid SAP appeal process.
- Assist TRIO SSS students with completing the Academic Suspension appeal process.
- Provides advising for students with regard to educational, career, and course options.
- Provide academic advising, mentoring, class scheduling, and registration assistance for TRIO SSS students.
- Utilize Colleague/Oracle to monitor student progress and persistence.
- Prepares and presents educational workshops/seminars as needed including Financial Literacy training.
- Investigates and shares information with Bulldog Life and TRIO SSS staff and students regarding local community and social services agencies providing supportive services.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director and/or College Administration.
- Creation and maintenance of TRIO SSS student files (both physical and electronic versions).
- Collaborate with all TRIO SSS staff to provide coverage of the TRIO SSS Reception Desk.

- Ability to create and maintain a social media presence for TRIO SSS.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills and the ability to function as a team player.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree.
Preferred:
- Experience working with a TRIO program.
- Knowledge of Colleague/Oracle (or other student information system) and Blumen software.
- Knowledge of the services provided by TRIO SSS.
- Prior TRIO participant.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Variances from regular working hours may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
- Busy working environment with numerous interruptions.
SALARY: $30,000. annually / This is a 10 month position to be paid over 12 months.
