Human Resource Coordinator

- Position Purpose
The Human Resources Coordinator is a supporting role within the human resources department and is responsible for a wide range of functions.The position will operate in accordance with the college’s policies and procedures.This position will be a part of implementing new processes to support the College’s growth and mission.
- Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure all appropriate documentation and approval for new and existing employees according to college procedures and checklists are filed.
- Effective communication of policies and procedures to other departments, new employees, and existing employees.
- Assisting new and existing employees in the completion of appropriate forms.
- Ensure all appropriate documentation and approval for terminations, transfers, salary changes, and all other personnel action taken by the College are filed.
- Conduct onboarding of new employees
- Working with the Payroll department to ensure the accurate pay of employees.
- Assist in the coordination of recruiting events
- Assist in the process for posting new job positions and recruitment of new employees
- Assist in the process for ongoing staff training
- Assist in the process for employee benefits
- Assist in the process of Workers Compensation and Unemployment Claims
- Assist in the process of tuition reimbursement requests
- Providing other departments with regular and ad hoc reporting
- Providing managers with necessary support and ensuring the accurate documentation of employee files with regards to performance evaluations, disciplinary action, and ongoing training certifications.
- Provide confidential information for bargaining unit contract negotiations
- Other duties as assigned
III. MANAGE STUDENT EMPLOYMENT:
Manage the Student Employment Program; interprets and monitor federal, state, and institutional rules and regulations governing the placement of eligible students; Monitors program compliance on policies, procedures and regulations including conducting mandated on-site visits to work locations to ensure integrity of program guidelines monitors the job performance; performs job placement activities; does related work as required. Work requires excellent communication skills to make contact with a wide variety of college departments and off-campus employers and to mediate performance problems of student employees. To ensure supervisors of student employees are trained and maintain performance review expectations and to ensure all student employees are trained and maintain performance standards as required.
IV. Qualifications – Education, Experience, and Skills
- Associate’s Degree in related field is required. Bachelor’s Degree or ability to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Human resources or other office work experience preferred
- Accurate and thorough in completing tasks
- Attention to detail
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- High level of integrity
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Knowledge of laws and regulations related to Human Resources
- Proficient in technology related to the field
