Duties and Responsibilities
Summary:
The Department of Health Informatics and Data Science and the Center for Health Outcomes and Informatics Research (CHOIR) at Loyola University Chicago invites applications for an immediate postdoctoral research position opening in medical informatics. We are encouraging applicants with strong research background in the area of data science, machine learning, and natural language processing with a focus on healthcare applications.
Expectations:
The selected candidate will collaborate with Dr. Modave and Dr. Tootooni, faculty members of the Department of Health Informatics and Data Science and CHOIR to form research questions, help writing grant proposals, and publish in top-tier clinical/informatics journals. This is a wonderful opportunity for junior scientists to get involved with applying artificial intelligence models on healthcare practice and join collaborative projects with Mayo Clinic, Loyola University Medical Center, etc.

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
M.D. or PhD Required
Qualifications
Candidates must have a doctorate degree in Medical Informatics, Computer Science, or other related field. Other expected requirements are having advanced knowledge in computer programming (preferably R or Python), machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and applied statistics. Having experience in working with raw EHR data is a plus.
