Nursing, Medical/Surgical Faculty-10-month (Catonsville)

Class Description

The 10-month Nursing Program faculty member is responsible for teaching both didactic and clinical instruction in the nursing program covering medical surgical content.  Teaching responsibilities include traditional face to face format with online supplement in the day and evening/weekend program.

Minimum Requirements

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland; Master’s degree in Nursing; teaching experience preferred; and two (2) years of recent clinical experience required.  

Class Specific Essential Duties

  1. Provide didactic and clinical instruction in the nursing program.  
  2. Coordinate adjunct faculty assigned to nursing courses.
  3. Conduct simulated experiences. 
  4. Participate in Nursing Program committees as assigned.

Position Specific Essential Duties

  1. Assure assigned lectures are current and contain active teaching techniques
  2. Serves as advisor to nursing students as assigned.
  3. Participates in the review of courses and curriculum.  
  4. Perfects teaching skills by using supervisor, peer and student feedback.
  5. Participates in School of Health Professions activities such as School Orientation and Interdisciplinary activities.
