Candidates must have strong evidence of successful teaching at the university level as the principal instructor. The teaching responsibilities related to this position may include fitness and graded exercise testing, exercise prescription for both general and special populations, biomechanics of exercise and exercise science laboratory courses.
In addition to teaching at the undergraduate level other duties include involvement in academic advising of undergraduate students, supervising undergraduate and graduate students in clinical activities and research, and directing and expanding both the UNH Employee Fitness Center and Employee Fitness Program. The Employee Fitness Program offers exercise programming and one-on-one exercise training for benefits-eligible faculty and staff, provided by the students of the Exercise Science program as their capstone experience. Under the guidance of the faculty member, students conduct health screenings, fitness testing, and metabolic, cardiac and pulmonary testing prior to and after the development and implementation of exercise training programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating student staffing in the Employee Fitness Center, managing and mentoring students through their capstone experience and the recruitment of clients for the Employee Fitness Program.
