System Engineer
Gromelski and Associates, Inc. (GAI) partners with prime contractors to provide professional services. Key service areas include Engineering Design and Documentation; Software Development and Testing; System Integration, Testing and Evaluation; Lab Management and Field Installation; Integrated Logistics Support, Training Development and Delivery, Multimedia Support, and Technical System Support.
System Engineer Job Description:
* Support ocean testing of sonobuoys at San Clemente Island and possibly other domestic locations.
* Serve as the primary liaison to the US Navy customer during test events.
* Disassemble buoy after testing is complete and perform high level troubleshooting of failed assets.
* Observe and document hardware defects and other abnormalities, and provide clear feedback to engineers & operations personnel at the conclusion of the test
* Safely package and label test assets for return for analysis, including HAZMAT
System Engineer Required Tasks/Skills:
* Ability to work 10 hours a day aboard a 100' vessel
* Clear written and verbal communication skills
System Engineer HighlyDesirable Skills:
* Experience working with US Navy sonobuoys
* Training/experience handling high power lithium battery sources.
System Engineer Additional Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 2 years of professional experience.
* Must be able to obtain and keep a DoD Secret Clearance which means you must be a U.S. Citizen.
* Proactive/self-starter. Task driven with ability to work independently.
* Team player that takes ownership and develops relationships with the team members which fosters team success.
