Research Technologist
Job Description
We are seeking a Research Technologist to be responsible for an ongoing project investigating cardiovascular disease. The technologist will work under the direct supervision of the faculty investigator.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and perform experiments and general laboratory organization and upkeep in a working cardiology laboratory.
- Perform laboratory experiments by following common protocols or with instruction.
- Identify and resolve common problems involved in routine research assays.
- Manage experiments from sample and reagent preparation to experimental testing and data collection.
- Analyze data in terms of quality control and experimental diagnostics in preparation for statistical analysis.
- Ensure careful record keeping of sample information and results to guarantee quality of experimentation.
- Accountable for operational laboratory management, including tracking supply inventories and ensuring availability of laboratory reagents and material.
- Carry out routine equipment maintenance and upkeep.
- Ensure laboratory efficiency by following set protocols for lab cleanliness, organization and safety regulations.
- Process analyzed data into figures for scientific publications.
- May scientifically contribute to writing of manuscripts and grants.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with molecular biology.
- Some related post-undergraduate work experience.

Starting Salary Range: $15.70 - $26.25 HRLY ($43,680 targeted; Commensurate with experience)
