Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Human Resources Student Assistant will be a member of the University Relations Human Resources (URHR) team helping to support HR functions including onboarding, recruitment, and administrative support.

Tasks include but are not limited to:
  • Create graphics for posting on division’s Linkedin page.
  • Help create newsletters for sharing open positions.
  • Prepare new employee welcome bag.
  • Help build orientation schedules.
  • Help with interview logistics such as:
    • Booking interview rooms, sharing interview materials with search panels, helping organize interview schedules, and more.
  • Assist with employee engagement initiatives.
  • Post job advertisements on relevant job boards.
  • Assist with completion and filing of employee forms as needed.
  • Help developed department specific Workday resources
  • Updating Org Charts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
  • This position is only open to University of Maryland, College Park undergraduate students.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
