Job Description

POSITION LOCATION: Fort Morgan, CO

 

EMPLOYMENT SPECIFICS: Full-Time (Exempt-Administrative 260 days), 1.0FTE

PURPOSE/SUMMARY OF JOB:

The Assistant Director of Facilities is responsible for the day-to-day operation & maintenance of all MCC owned and leased physical facilities at the Fort Morgan Campus and off-campus Centers, as well as supervision of physical plant and custodial staff at all locations. Responsibilities include overall building repair and maintenance; ongoing preventative maintenance; code compliance; assist in emergency response planning, safety and security, capital, controlled maintenance and campus facility projects; development of departmental goals and objectives; and performing skilled labor in the areas of carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing or welding, and equipment repairs as necessary. This position is responsible for mechanical systems (HVAC, fire alarms, and security); custodial services; college fleet; warehouse and inventory of plant and custodial supplies. Position includes occasional callback time for facilities emergencies and early morning hours for snow removal. This position shall perform all duties while promoting opportunities for inclusion, expressing the valuing of differences, and regularly demonstrating the college's commitment to the Guiding Principles.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in physical plant operations or construction project management and including skill area in painting, carpentry, electrical, plumbing or welding. A combination of education and experience totaling five (5) years may substitute.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise full-time staff.
  • Must be able to lift to 100 pounds.
  • Must have a current driver's license and be able to travel as necessary to carry out job duties.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational & customer service skills.
  • Ability to work as a team member and effectively solve problems.
  • Occasional long and irregular hours necessitated by special projects, compliance with deadlines, length of institutional day and week and committee service. Position includes occasional callback for facilities emergencies and early morning hours for snow removal

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in physical plant operations.
  • Familiarity with National Electric Code, Universal Plumbing Code, Uniform Building Code and Life Safety Code.

 

Anticipated Start Date: 09/15/2024

 

Salary and Benefits:

$57,600-$66,240 based on education, skills and experience. Benefits include health, life, dental insurance, vision, LTD & benefit package in accordance with Colorado Community College and Occupational Education System policies. No relocation assistance is provided.

About Morgan Community College (MCC):

MCC is located on I-76, 80 miles northeast of Denver and approximately 100 miles east of Rocky Mountain National Park.
