Essential Job Duties

University Housing at NC State University seeks a coordinator to facilitate recruitment and selection strategies and administrative processes for University Housing’s student employment opportunities. The coordinator collaborates with the Department, DASA, and University stakeholders to recruit students for employment opportunities, administer recruitment strategies, communicate with stakeholders, and manage the recruitment and selection software.

The Coordinator for Recruitment and Selection is responsible for:

Recruitment and Selection 
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive, year-long recruitment and selection process for all student-employee positions.
  • Collaborate with Department and DASA marketing teams to establish an innovative and creative marketing plan for student-employee positions.
  • Create and facilitate recruitment and selection training.
  • Assist in auditing, reviewing, and editing position descriptions and employment terms for student positions.
  • Lead the communication with students throughout the application processes.
  • Plan recruitment and selection events, including making reservations, planning agendas, communicating with stakeholders, and hosting outreach events.
  • Participate in recruitment and selection events hosted by academic programs and University stakeholders.

Student Employment 
  • Manage student employment personnel files within University Housing’s employment software.
  • Support student employees’ access to technology and resources by issuing access or communicating with the Department, DASA, and University stakeholders.
  • Oversee the onboarding process for student employees.
  • Collaborate with University Housing’s finance team to support student-employee hiring processes.

Student Development 
  • Develop and lead position information sessions to review position responsibilities.
  • Meet one-on-one with students for individual coaching and feedback throughout employment processes.
  • Collaborate across campus to identify and introduce students to resources supporting students through recruitment and selection processes.
  • Assist students through their onboarding process and transition them into training experiences.

Departmental Responsibilities 
  • Lead and participate in unit workgroups and feedback groups to collect data and information to support decision-making, policy and procedure setting, program implementation, and overall residential experiences.
  • Serve as a communication link between University Housing, staff, stakeholders, and residents.
  • Lead and/or serve on University Housing, DASA, and/or campus partner committees as appropriate and needed.
  • Participate in staff searches both internal and external to University Housing.
  • Assist with move-in, transitions, closing, and other Department or University events/operations as needed.

Other Responsibilities

  • Other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Other Required Qualifications

  • Experience recruiting and hiring student employees.
  • Evidence of strong project management skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership of planning and implementing complex processes. Implementation experience.
  • Understanding and knowledge of student employment processes.
  • Proficiency in using Google, Microsoft, and SAAS projects to enhance work efficiencies.
