Essential Job Duties

The Postdoctoral Teaching Scholar will be developing and implementing a new laboratory course in a cutting-edge area of molecular biotechnology within the scholar’s area of expertise.

The Scholar will be teaching sections at the graduate and undergraduate levels of an existing course that covers the manipulation and expression of recombinant DNA as well as developing and implementing a new laboratory course in a cutting-edge area of molecular biotechnology in the scholar’s area of expertise.

There are opportunities for mentoring undergraduate students in authentic research projects and discipline-based education research (DBER) studies.

This is a 12-month position and is renewable for up to three years, based on performance and funding.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday (8 AM - 5 PM)

Department Required Skills

  • PhD in molecular biology or related area. Candidate must complete all PhD requirements prior to employment.
  • Postdoctoral research experience, strong interpersonal skills, and teaching ability.
  • Developing and implementing a new laboratory course in a cutting-edge area of molecular biotechnology in the fellow’s area of expertise.
  • Teaching sections at the graduate and undergraduate levels of an existing course that covers the manipulation and expression of recombinant DNA.
