Position Summary:

The Senior Associate, Technical Services works as part of the Manufacturing team in support of Poseida's production of cell therapies. The position is responsible for supporting technical manufacturing activities associated with cell therapy production across Poseida's internal and external manufacturing networks. This position provides on-the-floor manufacturing support to address deviations, support of validation activities, change control, CAPAs, as well as regulatory submissions. Technical services is responsible for leading and/or supporting tech transfer activities, process optimization, scale-up, process monitoring, and manufacturing process troubleshooting. The goal is to be the 'first line of defense' for any issues from the manufacturing floor. This position has a strong cross-functional partnership with leaders of process development and quality to ensure success for the pipeline to develop the next generation of therapies for patients.


Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Initiate deviations and lead root cause investigations for Poseida's pilot plant
  • Safety first mentality, adhere to all safety protocols and procedures
  • Champion of compliance, maintain a quality-first mindset by always following batch record instructions, SOPs, Work Instructions, and protocols as written
  • Leads/supports manufacturing-related risk management activities and mitigation efforts to reduce risks.
  • Supports technology transfer related activities for NPI and implementation of process changes into manufacturing.
  • Partners with Manufacturing and Quality teams to identify and drive process optimization initiatives and addresses opportunities for efficiency and capacity improvements in all areas of internal and external manufacturing.
  • Identifies and implements continuous improvements
  • Supports manufacturing batch record development for clinical processing
  • Leads/supports planning, scheduling, executing and reporting on Manufacturing projects and support programs, as needed.
  • Proactive and organized approach to accomplishing deliverables
  • Maintain consistent communication with leadership and team
  • Collaborate with other departments to develop and optimize early phase processes/procedures while maintaining flexible mindset
  • Defines and analyzes key performance metrics to drive continuous improvement across manufacturing operations
  • Supports validation and training projects
Requirements

Requirements, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline (e.g. Biology, Chemistry, or Engineering preferred) and 5+ years of related experience (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered).
  • Strong understanding of regulatory expectations for contamination controls and aseptic processing.
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems and continuous process improvement principles including global cGMP requirements, and other relevant regulations and guidance.
  • Able to take ownership of a given assignment, proactively consulting cross-functional team members and other department representatives for information or guidance, as necessary.
  • Strong critical and logical thinking with ability to analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, and implement recommendations for resolution.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong demonstrated aseptic techniques.
  • Self-motivated, flexible and creative leader, able to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Work is performed in a GMP manufacturing facility.
  • Subject to extended periods of standing (8 hours).
  • Must be able to work in controlled environments requiring special gowning. Will be required to follow gowning requirements and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet, and body.
  • Work may require lifting, up to 40 lbs.
  • Subject to extended periods of sitting and/or standing in a clean room environment (ISO 7 or ISO 5).
  • Work is generally performed in an office, manufacturing clean room or clinical environment.
  • Travel may be required up to 20% of the time.


Senior Associate, Technical Services Pay Rate: $78,000 to $102,000 annually

The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type, and length of experience with the industry, education, geographic location, etc.
