Job Description:

The Director of Central NY Partnerships serves as a liaison to various external entities, including but not limited to, workforce development organizations, community-based organization, educational institutions, government, business/industry leaders, and foundations (hereafter "Project Partners"). Additionally, the Director of Central NY Partnerships strategizes and works on special projects assigned by the President. The Director of Central NY Partnerships oversees the planning, coordination, and supervision of a wide variety of focused program operations and services related to external projects such as Micron Technology's Chip Fab Complex as well as their global suppliers, and Amazon Distribution Center. The duties of this position involve developing, overseeing and implementation of complex and comprehensive projects. The Director of Central NY Partnerships contributes to planning and directs engagement objectives to develop and maintain productive relations with Project Partners. The position involves creating communication vehicles and delivering messaging to inform and support Project Partners. The role is a combination of project management, government relations, community engagement, and workforce development. Several of the projects intersect various stakeholders including business/industry, non-profit organizations, government entities, students, alumni, and more.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees, coordinates, and directs the planning and development of complex and comprehensive programs with a focus on Project Partners.
  • Maintains top-level contact with Project Partners regarding programs and objectives.
  • Provides culturally competent service to Project Partners with improvement of job skills and employment of marginalized and economically disadvantaged individuals related to projects.
  • Oversees and directs assessment of the impact projects as it relates to Project Partners.
  • Reviews results of economic and demographic studies and analyses of the labor force to determine ways to support project objectives.
  • Oversees and directs the preparation of reports to Project Partners.
  • Keeps abreast of Federal, State, and local policy, rules, and regulations changes regarding assigned projects.
  • Directs the development of methods and procedures for reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating program effectiveness and success.
  • Speaks with various groups in the community about the project, and if needed, coordinates convenings of Project Partners.
  • Serves as the project manager for the College related to work with Project Partners including overseeing high-priority strategic initiatives.
  • Ensures initiatives include all the dimensions of a robust strategic initiative (e.g., business case, scoping, KPIs, key milestones, execution plan).
  • Plans activities and tasks that will deliver the desired initiative results and oversees day-to-day work and monitoring of initiative progress towards goals and milestones.
  • Coordinates and conducts project meetings and prepares regular reporting to communicate the status of initiatives to Project Partners.
  • Escalates and resolves issues that serve as roadblocks/barriers; identifies and provides information about trade-offs between options and influences recommended approaches.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

 
 
 
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

Experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree at a ratio of 2:1 will be considered.

For example: Two full years of college will be considered with a minimum of 9 years of experience in areas listed below.

At least 5 years of experience in a related field including, but not limited to;

workforce development,
government affairs,
program coordination,
partnership development,
community engagement.

 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
Experience working at a college and/or university.
Demonstrated ability to overcome adversity.
Experience working with STEM students, teachers/professors, and/or business partners
Expertise working with New Americans and/or non-US Citizens.
Bilingual in English and Spanish. English and another language will be considered.

Additional Information:
Salary range is $70,862 - $88,578 , commensurate with credentials and relevant experience.
