Job Title: IT Support Specialist

Job Description:

SPA is seeking an IT Support Specialist to serve as the main point of contact for our information systems user community in San Diego. This role is part of the Enterprise Operations team supporting the Operations Research and Cyber Analysis (ORCA) division in San Diego, CA. Responsibilities include monitoring and managing support requests, providing technical assistance, deploying and maintaining software and hardware, inventory management, and troubleshooting issues. Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and timely support to end users, serving as the primary contact for all computer and system-related issues. Your duties will include troubleshooting and resolving IT problems, encompassing both hardware and software issues. You will be tasked with analyzing and diagnosing complex system and network faults, implementing corrective actions as necessary. Additionally, you will deploy, repair, test, and track hardware and software, manage inventory, perform patching and upgrades, and ensure software maintenance while coordinating with third-party vendors. Your responsibilities will also involve assisting with hardware and software installation, configuration, and maintenance, as well as documenting IT processes and standard operating procedures to assist in compliance with RMF. You will contribute to IT projects, system upgrades, software integrations, and new technology implementations, and coordinate and execute scheduled upgrades. Effective interfacing with third-party support and vendors will also be required.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are commensurate with experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. California Pay Transparency Range: $60,000 - $90,000

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience with 1-3 years of relevant experience in system building, computer provisioning, Active Directory and familiarity with Windows Server, Windows OS, and Linux.
  • Experience with VMWare and virtualized environments, along with a basic understanding of routing and switching.
  • Strong problem-solving and time management skills, with experience working both independently and in team-oriented, collaborative environments.
  • US Citizenship required; must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Must possess and maintain DoD 8570/8140 certification (e.g., Security+ CE).

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working within Department of Defense (DoD) secure environments, including familiarity with relevant security protocols and compliance requirements.
  • Certification or training in advanced IT topics to complement existing skills and knowledge.
  • Experience providing advanced helpdesk support, including troubleshooting complex technical issues and managing escalations in a high-demand environment.
