POSITION TITLE: Director of Post Grant Administration

DEPARTMENT: Administration and Finance

PRIMARY LOCATION: Fall River

REPORTS TO: Comptroller

POSITIONS SUPERVISED: Grant Accountant

POSITION STATUS: This is a full-time, non-unit position with benefits, some nights and weekends required.

SALARY: 87,473.89 - 96,554.81*

  • Hiring salary Grade 10, commensurate with education and experience.

STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Responsible for the post side of the college's federal, state, and private grants. The college currently has approximately 35 grants at an estimated $35,000,000.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Firm knowledge of the Uniform Guidance and Regulations to apply to federal funding.
  • Ability to understand state grant regulations, as well as the specific requirements of each grant.
  • Review award documents for post-award requirements and determine the type of award.
  • Interpret various rules and regulations based on the grant terms and conditions.
  • Assist pre-award office in budget development including payroll projections.
  • Read RFP to assist pre-award in budget development.
  • Set up grants Collaborate with various team members on all grant transactions.
  • Reconcile various grant transactions to the state accounting system, G6, GEM$, and Banner.
  • Maintain grant portfolio in TEAMS.
  • Monitor budgets and confirm expenses are reasonable, allocable, and allowable.
  • Approve time and effort reporting forms, budget modifications, course request forms, and personnel action forms.
  • Administer the close out of grant awards.
  • Responsible for managing all financial aspects of grants.
  • Prepare and review invoices.
  • Monitor cash on a daily basis.
  • Read contracts and grants and recommend a course of action.
  • Audit grants accounting data, identify and correct errors to ensure conformance with rules and regulations.
  • Be the lead person in college audits (A-133 and Annual Financial Statement Audit) as it relates to grants.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Will be required to communicate with a wide array of people including, College staff, granting agencies, and State Comptroller's Office,
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Able to create journal entries, including accruals and deferred revenue.
  • At least five years' experience in post-grant accounting.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

NOTE: Unless otherwise noted, all required qualifications must be met by date of hire.

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or other field related to area of assignment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications.
  • The ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff.
  • Demonstrated progressive experience in leadership/management level positions throughout career.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Reliable transportation in order to travel to and from meetings, trainings, or campus and community locations as required.
  • Ability to work occasional nights and/or weekends

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferred experience in Higher Education.
  • Preferred knowledge of GEMS$ and G6 portals
  • Preferred knowledge of Ellucian Banner system
  • Ability to communicate in a language in addition to English (Include desired language, if needed).
