How you will make an impact

As the Manager, Accounting-Payroll and Share-based Compensation, leads the review and approval of day-to-day full cycle operations for payroll and stock plan administration. In this role, you will manage third-party vendors for payroll processing, wage deposit and tax fillings, and stock administration, ensuring completion of all journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations related to these areas.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Oversee payroll and stock administration operations and related third-party providers and review payroll and approve for funding requests
  • Record compensation-related, project allocation and share- based journal entries
  • Prepare assigned month-end reconciliations of general ledger accounts
  • Review and approve participant equity plan transactions, verify inclusion in payroll calculations and settle in the equity system, including grants, exercises, tax withholdings, releases, cancellations, etc.
  • Support the SOX 404 compliance process and recommend SOX Controls as needed
  • Compile accurate compensation schedules and tables for tax, the annual Proxy statement and Form 10-Qs/Ks
  • Lead 401(k) and workers' compensation audits
  • Prepare audit schedules and reports for the integrated, 401(k) plan and workers' compensation insurance audits
  • Complete payroll and stock tax forms and compliance notices to employees and governmental jurisdictions
  • Reconcile stock plan summaries, flex and 401(k) plans
  • Assist with assigned shares-based compensation, beneficial ownership, payroll, general accounting, and educational employee campaign projects
  • Prepare ad hoc reports as requested for budgeting and forecasting, and forecast share availability
  • Prepare share utilization and plan slides for the Compensation Committee

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting with at least 8 years of progressive accounting experience (a combination of education and experience may be considered)
  • Payroll, general ledger and share-based accounting / administration experience required
  • Proven track record of leading sophisticated projects to successful completion, delivering on-time, and on-budget
  • Experience in Workday, Microsoft Excel (intermediate level, including use of charts, graphs and pivot tables), PowerPoint and Word required
  • Public company and SOX-compliant pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry experience preferred
  • Experience in Equity Edge Online and Great Plains is preferred

The most likely base pay range for this position is $101K - $152K per year. Several factors, such as experience, tenure, skills, and particular business needs, will determine an individual's exact level of compensation. Base salary is only one element of employee compensation at Halozyme. Total compensation could include bonuses, sales incentives, and equity awards.
