Student Life serves as the hub for students at Santa Fe College and is comprised of student activities, student clubs and organizations, civic engagement and service, student government, leadership programs, the Student Engagement Center, international student support and advising, Saints Food Share, the Student Life Business Office, and Student Life marketing. Student Life also provides student-centered services such as access to a recreation room, computer lab, art gallery, ID card services, and holds evening hours.

Student Life is seeking a part-time Spherion employee to provide administrative support through positive customer service and record maintenance and will serve as the leader, greeter, receptionist, and scheduler for the Engagement Center. The 30 hours will be varied based on the students' and staffing needs during the peak hours of 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Responsibilities and Duties Include:

  • Provides support activities for the department such as answering telephones, directing calls, assisting in the preparation of special events, scheduling appointments, or assisting students, college employees, and the public by responding to concerns/inquiries and providing some front-line level of resolution while making appropriate referrals as necessary.
  • Fosters a professional, helpful, and welcoming atmosphere by greeting, responding to, and directing students.
  • Communicates, collaborates, and maintains relationships with internal and external community constituents.
  • Provides administrative support making travel arrangements, department purchasing, inventory, and requisitioning of supplies, equipment, and furniture.
  • Schedule rooms and spaces in the Engagement Center and across the campus for student organizations.
  • Connects students with opportunities and resources on campus, as well as Student Life specific aid and guidance.
  • Supports Center activities and program such by monitoring activities and equipment and assisting with the enforcement of rules and policies.
  • Assists with the management and maintenance of facilities, which may include arranging for corrective and preventative maintenance or ensuring cleanliness and sterile conditions.
  • May reconcile department budgets reports by compiling and logging supporting documentation records.
  • Maintains confidentiality and security of student and/or department records and other sensitive information.
  • May assist in the development or upkeep of the webpage.
  • Complies with all published College Rules, procedures, guidelines, and laws/regulations governing public employees, including but not limited to those related to document retention and destruction, FERPA, and confidentiality.
  • Provides service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible and professional engagement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Reports to: Associate Director, Student Life

QUALIFICATIONS

Required: High school diploma or equivalent with two (2) years of work experience or a combination of education and experience equal to two (2) years.

Additional Requirements: A criminal background check will be conducted.

  • Ethics – able to demonstrate integrity, professionalism, civility, and a high degree of ethics in all job-related activities.
