Summary of Position

The Windows System Administration Technical Lead provides technical leadership within the Server Administration and Support team developing, implementing, and maintaining Windows centric provisioning, lifecycle management, and automation solutions for the Windows Server environments. The role is responsible for defining the new path of continuous improvement and the modernization of service delivery for Windows based workloads through the adoption of modern solutions.

As a technical lead, this role requires a deep understanding of modern enterprise infrastructure solutions and methodologies. This role must have a deep understanding of the server management lifecycle, principles, and technologies. The role is responsible for developing the roadmap, providing architecture support and technical leadership for an engineering team, encouraging the adoption and use of modern tools and processes such as CI/CD and AI, maintaining and promoting best practices, and most importantly ensuring customer success.

  • Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience in information technology field, Associate’s and five years, or combination of education and experience equal to seven years.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server and client operating systems to deliver application services.
  • Demonstrated experience managing windows servers in an enterprise environment.
  • Knowledge of PowerShell or other scripting languages and experience using them for automation of system administration tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly learn and understand new technologies.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leveraging AI to enhance IT processes and solutions
  • Experience with VMware, Azure, or AWS.
  • Experience with other operating systems including Linux.
  • Experience with M365.
  • Experience with GitLab or other revision control systems.

Duty/Responsibility

Technical Management and Leadership of Windows Servers and Applications.
  • Provide technical leadership to the WSA team to design, implement, and maintain Windows Servers.
  • Provide guidance to the WSA team in resolving complex issues and ensuring timely incident resolution.
  • Propose solutions to improve efficiency and productivity through automation of processes, ensuring efficient workflows and effective task assignment.
  • Ensure the design of the Windows Server infrastructure is standardized, optimized, scalable, reliable, and reportable.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and input on annual performance evaluations for team members to the Manager of Enterprise Systems and Services.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, encouraging professional growth and skill development.
  • Collaborate with the Manager of Systems and Services to define talent acquisition strategies, participate in candidate interviews, and assess technical skills.
  • Recommend, design, develop, and present Key Performance Indictors (KPI) needed to represent the work of the team to the Manager of Enterprise Systems and Services and other members of leadership.
  • Oversee the installation, upgrade, management, and technical support of installed applications in collaboration with the application owner.
  • Develop strategies to effectively manage update processes and streamline overall operations to meet customer needs Ensure and maintain compliance with all current security policies for applications
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the customer and participate in planning meetings as necessary to support applications.

Duty/Responsibility

Windows Cloud Infrastructure Design and Deployment.
  • Collaborate with cloud infrastructure team to gather requirements and design scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions across private and public cloud platforms.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices related to Windows Server design, architecture, and security.
  • Attend to future changes in the Windows Server Environment and recommend changes as needed to the Manager of Enterprise Systems and Services.

Duty/Responsibility

Technical Guidance and Troubleshooting.
  • Conduct periodic reviews and system audits to verify high-quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges and interdependencies.
  • Stay up to date with the latest developments in Windows server and associated technologies, providing recommendations for their adoption as needed.

Duty/Responsibility

General IT support.
  • Provide morning, evening, and weekend coverage for time critical events, addressing production issues, or other changes.
