Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sheriff Detective to join our law enforcement team. As a Sheriff Detective, you will be responsible for conducting investigations, gathering evidence, and assisting with criminal cases. Your role will involve collaborating with other law enforcement agencies, interviewing witnesses, and preparing comprehensive reports. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough investigations into criminal cases assigned by supervisors
  • Gather, analyze, and evaluate evidence, ensuring its admissibility in court
  • Interview witnesses, victims, and suspects to obtain crucial information
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies to share and gather intelligence
  • Prepare comprehensive reports outlining findings and recommendations
  • Testify in court as needed, presenting evidence and providing expert testimony
  • Maintain accurate records and case files to ensure the integrity of investigations
  • Stay up-to-date with current laws, investigatory techniques, and best practices
  • Assist in responding to emergency situations as required
  • Uphold departmental policies and procedures, and adhere to ethical standards

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or a related field (preferred)
  • Previous experience as a detective, investigator, or similar role
  • Knowledge of investigative techniques and procedures
  • Proficiency in using law enforcement databases and software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Physical fitness and the ability to meet the demands of the job
