Part-time Faculty: Psychology

Lakeland Community College invites qualified candidates to submit their application as an expression of interest in future teaching position openings which may include daytime, evening, weekend, online, or hybrid (on-campus and online combination) classes. Locations may include main campus, online, or at alternate locations, including classes at local high schools which are Lakeland’s College Credit Plus partners.

Courses: We offer a variety of psychology courses. We are currently looking for an instructor to teach a College Credit Plus section of Introduction to Psychology at Paradigm, which is located at Mentor High School. This class will be offered during the fall 2024 semester and run on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 8:14 a.m. to 9:06 a.m. There may be opportunities to teach additional sections of this course or others in future semesters.

  • PSYC 1500 – Introduction to Psychology (3 units of load)

Course Description: This course provides a general introduction to the discipline of psychology. It considers most central theories, concepts, findings, and applications in the following areas: biological bases of behavior, the scientific method, learning, perception, thinking, development, memory, individual differences, personality, abnormal behavior, and social behavior.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Required: Master’s degree and 18 graduate credit hours in psychology (either as part of the degree or additional work beyond the degree).
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in psychology and experience teaching college-level courses at a community college.
