Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

The Department of Management and Entrepreneurship in the Ivy College of Business at Iowa State University is seeking a part-time (.25 FTE) term (i.e., non-tenure-track) faculty member to begin in late August 2024 for the fall 2024 semester. The rank will either be Lecturer or Assistant Professor of Teaching or Practice, and this position comes with the possibility of both renewal and increased FTE. The fall 2024 teaching load is one section of ENTSP 310 (Introduction to Entrepreneurship and Innovation), which meets face-to-face MWF 7:45 – 8:35 am. In addition to the course being face-to-face, the expectation is that the faculty member will be here on campus and available to meet with students in person. Teaching in subsequent semesters may include a variety of classes and modalities.

 

The Department of Management and Entrepreneurship is a vibrant, supportive, and productive group of 37 faculty members (21 tenure-track and 17 term) currently chaired by Scott Johnson. With research interests spanning the areas of HR, OB, Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and Healthcare Management, they have published research in a wide variety of top journals, including the Academy of Management Journal Academy of Management Review Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Journal of Management Organization Science Strategic Management Journal , and Journal of Business Venturing . The department offers undergraduate degrees in Human Resource Management, Management, Entrepreneurship, Healthcare Management, and International Business. The department also offers a Masters in Entrepreneurship and hosts PhD programs in Management as well as Entrepreneurship.

 

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Availability to teach face-to-face at 7:45 am MWF in the Fall 2024 semester
  • Previous experience teaching related courses in higher education
  • Masters degree

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching courses at ISU
  • Experience teaching business-related courses
  • Experience teaching entrepreneurship/innovation-related courses
  • Experience with ISU’s learning management system, Canvas
  • ABD or Ph.D.
