Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
SBAN is seeking an hourly Graduate Assistant (GA) Researcher who will play a crucial role in advancing our mission to prevent displacement of BIPOC- and immigrant-owned small businesses by analyzing existing research, gathering data, and producing original materials.

- Conduct Literature Reviews: Conduct comprehensive literature reviews to synthesize existing research on gentrification, small businesses, and community and economic
development, identifying gaps and opportunities for further investigation. - Collect and Analyze Data: Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data from various sources, including surveys, interviews, and census data to inform SBAN publications like the
Small Business Anti-Displacement Toolkit. - Produce Original Research: Lead or contribute to the production of original research papers, reports, and policy briefs.
- Disseminate Findings: Present research findings at webinars, workshops, and conferences.
- Support Capacity Building: Provide support to SBAN capacity-building initiatives as needed.
This may include support for the communications team, member working groups, and case studies.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- Graduate-level coursework or equivalent experience in urban planning, public policy,
economics, sociology, or a related field.

- Experience with literature reviews, qualitative and quantitative data analysis, and survey research.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to distill complex concepts and findings into clear and compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
